Day 1: Guinea Pig Tour in the Sacred Valley
We will pick you up at 7:30 am in our private van. On the way, you will enjoy the beautiful snow-capped mountains and local farmers who work hard in their fields from very early. Once we arrive at Lamay we will cross to the left bank of the Vilcanota River to finally reach our destination Huchuy Qosqo Community, we will have a warm reception by Andean women and men.

Then we will get ready to start preparing the Cuy al Palo, our Andean women and men will guide us to achieve an exquisite preparation of the guinea pig al Palo, mixing fine herbs and spices. Then finish with the preparation, we will have time to visit guinea pig sheds, where our local guides will explain the breeding and feeding of guinea pigs and their classification, the food they eat, and forage such as alpha.
Time to taste our dish
After the visit to the shed, we will return to our local house to serve the fresh, crunchy guinea pig. Its meat is full of proteins, amino acids and contains almost no fat, it has the necessary nutrients for a balanced diet. Although it is true it is not the only way to prepare it, there are many ways such as guinea pig pepián, guinea pig Chactado, baked guinea pig, guinea pig broth, and many other options.
