3-day Huchuy Qosqo Incan Trail & Machu Picchu with Guinea pig on the Stick Demonstration

Day 1: TREKKING TO PUKAMARCA COMMUNITY.
Pick-up from the hotel will be at 6:30 am. From there, we’ll head to Tambomachay, located just 20 minutes from Cusco.
ACTIVITIES: Upon arrival, we will begin our Huchuy Qosqo trek with a slow walk through the highest mountains of the Cusco region to help acclimate to the altitude. Then, our guide will perform a ceremony to Pachamama (Mother Earth), marking a spiritual start to our journey and strengthening our connection with the land. As we continue, we’ll pass pastures filled with alpacas and llamas, spot native birds, and enjoy breathtaking views of serene blue lakes along the way.
Lunch Break:Afterward, we’ll stop to enjoy a delicious organic lunch. Following this, we’ll continue our trek toward the Pukamarca campsite, situated at 4,000 meters. Along the way, the journey will be both rewarding and scenic, with incredible views to make the experience even more memorable.
OVERNIGHT: We will overnight in the Pukamarca community. Upon arrival, we’ll enjoy a tasty dinner, prepared with fresh local ingredients. Afterward, we’ll settle in for the night at the campsite, resting and preparing for the exciting adventure ahead.
Day 2: TREK TO HUCHUY QOSQO INCA SITE – OVERNIGHT IN MACHUPICCHU TOWN.
MORNING BREAKFAST:We will start the day with a delicious breakfast at 6:00 am. Afterward, we’ll begin our trekking journey with a gradual descent toward the archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo, located at 3,600 meters. This will allow us to fully appreciate the site’s beauty and history along the way.
ACTIVITIES:We will begin our trek to Huchuy Qosqo, enjoying stunning landscapes along the way. We’ll pass refreshing streams, beautiful canyons, and small waterfalls, while taking in breathtaking views of the Sacred Valley. Once we arrive at the Huchuy Qosqo archaeological site, we’ll explore key constructions, starting with the palace of Inca king Wiracocha, followed by the water temple.
LUNCH:Next, we will descend to the village of Villa Carmen, where we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch. Here, we’ll taste guinea pig on the stick, a traditional dish from the Sacred Valley, offering an authentic culinary experience. After lunch, we’ll travel by van to Ollantaytambo, an ancient Inca city. Once there, we’ll explore the city on foot, immersing ourselves in its rich history and remarkable Incan architecture.
DINNER: In Ollantaytambo, we will savor a delicious dinner before continuing our journey.Finally, we will board our train to Aguas Calientes Machu Picchu town.
Overnight in machupicchu Town:
Upon arrival, we will check into our hotel and rest for the next day’s adventure at Machu Picchu Incan city.
Day 3: Machu Picchu Tour – back to Cusco City
BREAKFAST: we have a delicious breakfast at the hotel at 6:00 am.
ACTIVITIES: On Day 3, we will explore Machu Picchu, one of the 7 Wonders of the World. To begin, we’ll take a 30-minute bus ride from Aguas Calientes town to the ancient Incan city. Once we arrive, we’ll need both our entrance tickets and personal passports to gain access to the Incan site.
EXPLORE MACHUPICCHU: Once we enter Machu Picchu Incan city, we will embark on a 2-hour guided tour along the Classic Circuit 2. During this time, we’ll have the opportunity to fully immerse ourselves in the fascinating history and beauty of the Incan city. Afterward, we’ll return from Machu Picchu and enjoy a well-deserved lunch in Aguas Calientes town. Finally, make sure to arrive at the train station 35 minutes in advance to ensure a smooth departure.
TRAIN:The train will arrive in Ollantaytambo after a 2-hour journey. Along the way, you’ll enjoy the stunning beauty of the valley—a once-in-a-lifetime experience. To conclude the day, our staff will be waiting for you at the Ollantaytambo station and will assist you in returning to your hotel in Cusco.
