Huchuy Qosqo Inca Trail and Short Inca Trail 4 Days / 3 Nights

The Huchuy Qosqo Inca Trail and Short Inca Trail is a unique trek that combines two of the best-preserved Inca sites and, unlike the busier Inca Trail, allows passing through remote, untouched communities in the sacred valley. You will observe incredible landscapes and native flora and fauna before ending in the mind-blowing Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World Machupicchu.

Day 1: Cusco to Tambo Machay valley– Pukamarca Community

Pick up from the hotel at 6:30 am. We go to the starting point of the trekking, Tambomachay. Translated its name means resting place, and it is located 3 km from the city of Cusco, and is where we will meet our team, chef, and porters in charge of bringing all the camping equipment. Continuing with the trek to the lunch point of the Qeulla Cocha lagoon, we will have our organic lunch with a panoramic view, and clean water to fill the drinking canteens.

Finishing with lunch we continue with the trek until we reach the Sicllaccasa pass where we will enjoy beautiful landscapes and South American camelids such as llamas and alpacas, and where we can learn about medicinal plants of the Andes, which are the source of economy for the towns. We will also pass potato fields and pastures. At the Sicllaccasa or Rumi Cruz pass (4100 masl / 13186 feet), we will have a small ceremony with our local guide to mother earth (Pachamama) to protect us and take care of us with their guardians (the Apus) on our journey. Our guide will then guide us to the community of Pukamarka, the campsite, and we will have tea time and dinner.

Day 2: Pukamarca Community – Inca site Huchuy Qosqo – Overnight Ollantaytambo

After a good night’s sleep, our trekking porters will wake you up early with a hot drink before breakfast – coca tea – while you contemplate the beautiful view of the high mountains. After breakfast, we continue our way to the Inca palace of Viracocha Inca, which will take us 1 hour. Once there we will enjoy its construction and Inca organization and we will have a guided tour followed by some free time to take it all in, and then continue with the descent to the place where our transportation and lunch await us in the village of Huchuy Qosqo.

Immediately after lunch, we head to Ollantaytambo. We spend the night in Ollantaytambo, the oldest Inca town, with its canals that run through the ancient streets. Your guide will take you to the hotel. He will have time to explore the Inca village on his own, and lastly, you will enjoy dinner together.

Day 3: Ollantaytambo-KM104 Chachabamba- Wiñay Wayna _Guard house Machu picchu – Machu Picchu town

The day starts with the pick-up from your hotel in Ollantaytambo at 5:00 am. Next, we will go to the Train Station bound for km104, where we will start our guided short Inca trail passing Chacha Bamba Chachabamba (located at 2250 m.s.n.m.), Wiñayhuayna, and Inti Punku (Sun Gate) with views over Machu Picchu. Along the Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, you will see spectacular views of farmland, coca and tropical fruit plantations, snow-capped mountains, valleys and ravines of Machu Picchu, and the Urubamba River which is part of the Amazon River.

We will enjoy the visit to Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, at sunset and we will take classic photos of the city. By this time of day the travelers will be gone, leaving the entire area of ​​Machu Picchu for you.

After taking fhoto postal Machu Picchu, we take the bus from the city of Machu Picchu to the town of Aguas Calientes. Then we go to the hotel and we will have our delicious dinner in the best restaurant in Machu Picchu and rest the time.

Day 4: Machu Picchu tour – back to Cusco city

Explore Machu Picchu on day 2, one of the 7 Wonders of The World. The Machu Picchu sanctuary is open from 6:00 am. We will start with breakfast at our hotel and our guide will explain the restrictions of Machu Picchu. We will take the bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu Archeological Park and then we need to have entrance tickets to Machu Picchu and a personal passport. Once we enter the Inca city, we have a 3-hour guide in Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu Park was declared a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.this important archaeological park was built by the Inca Pachaquteq around 1450. Admire the architecture and the Inca hydraulic engineering and important sites of the archaeological center. Return from Machu Picchu and enjoy your lunch in one of the good restaurants in Machu Picchu. Make sure you arrive at the train station 30 minutes early. To board the return train, our staff will wait for you at the Ollantaytambo station and take you to your hotel in Cusco.
