Day 1: Arrival in Lima – Overnight
Welcome to Lima, the vibrant gateway to Peru. Upon arrival at the airport, a representative from Peruvian Culture Tours will greet you and provide a comfortable transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure, allowing you to relax and recover from your journey before beginning your Peruvian adventure.

Day 2: Paracas & Huacachina Full-Day Adventure from Lima
Your day begins early with a box breakfast provided by your hotel in Lima. At 4:00 AM, your official guide from Peruvian Culture Tours will meet you in the hotel lobby and accompany you to your private transportation for the journey south along Peru’s scenic Pacific coast.
After approximately 3 hours of driving, you will arrive in Paracas, one of Peru’s most important coastal wildlife reserves. Here, you will board a local speedboat for a 2-hour excursion to the Ballestas Islands, often referred to as the “Peruvian Galápagos.” During this unforgettable experience, you will observe a wide variety of marine wildlife in their natural habitat, including Humboldt penguins, sea lions, pelicans, cormorants, gulls, and numerous nesting seabirds. You will also admire the famous Candelabra geoglyph, a mysterious prehistoric figure etched into the coastal hillside.
Following the boat tour, you will continue by private vehicle for approximately 1 hour to the oasis of Huacachina, a stunning natural lagoon surrounded by towering sand dunes in the heart of the Peruvian desert.
Upon arrival, get ready for an exciting desert adventure. Enjoy a 90-minute dune buggy and sandboarding experience, exploring some of the highest dunes in South America. Feel the thrill as you ride across the golden sands and try sandboarding down the slopes. Throughout the excursion, you will have plenty of opportunities to admire and photograph the spectacular desert landscapes and the beautiful oasis lagoon.
After enjoying the breathtaking scenery of Huacachina and some free time to relax, you will begin the return journey to Lima. Arrival is expected in the evening, concluding an unforgettable day exploring two of Peru’s most iconic destinations.
Day 3: Lima City Tour
In the afternoon, you will embark on a fascinating journey through Lima’s rich history, exploring the city through its three historical periods: Pre-Hispanic, Colonial, and Modern.
Your tour begins in the Historic Center of Lima, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that showcases the grandeur of Peru’s colonial past. Here, you will visit the iconic Plaza Mayor (Main Square), the birthplace of Lima and home to some of the city’s most important historical landmarks, including the Government Palace, the Cathedral of Lima, and elegant colonial mansions.
The experience continues with a guided visit to the renowned Convent of San Francisco, one of the finest examples of colonial architecture in South America. This historic convent is famous for its beautiful cloisters, religious art, and its underground catacombs, which served as Lima’s first public cemetery during the colonial era. Day 4: Flight to Cusco & Inca Mummies Museum
- Upon arrival at Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport in Cusco, a representative from Peruvian Culture Tours will warmly welcome you and provide a comfortable transfer to your hotel.
- After check-in, you may enjoy lunch at a restaurant of your choice before beginning your first cultural experience in the Imperial City. In the afternoon, accompanied by your official guide from Peruvian Culture Tours, you will visit the Inca Museum, home to an impressive collection of archaeological artifacts, including Inca mummies, ceramics, textiles, and ceremonial objects. During the visit, your guide will provide fascinating insights into the history, traditions, and achievements of the Inca civilization.
- Following the museum visit, enjoy free time to explore Cusco’s charming cobblestone streets, historic plazas, colonial architecture, and vibrant local atmosphere at a relaxed pace. Day 5: Sacred Valley Tour – Aguas Calientes
After breakfast at your hotel in Cusco, your private guide from Peruvian Culture Tours will meet you in the lobby at 8:00 a.m. to begin an unforgettable full-day journey through the legendary Sacred Valley of the Incas. Traveling in the comfort of private transportation, you will discover an extraordinary blend of ancient history, breathtaking landscapes, and living Andean traditions.
Your first stop is Chinchero, one of the Sacred Valley’s most picturesque villages and an important Inca settlement. Explore its impressive agricultural terraces, visit the beautiful colonial church built upon original Inca foundations, and experience the enduring traditions that continue to define this vibrant Andean community.
Continue to Moray, a remarkable archaeological site renowned for its concentric circular terraces. Considered an agricultural laboratory of the Inca Empire, Moray demonstrates the Incas’ remarkable engineering skills and sophisticated understanding of microclimates, allowing them to experiment with crops adapted to different environmental conditions.
At midday, arrive in the historic town of Ollantaytambo, the heart of the Sacred Valley, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch at a carefully selected restaurant featuring a combination of authentic Peruvian cuisine and international specialties.
In the afternoon, explore the magnificent archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo, one of the finest surviving examples of Inca urban planning and military architecture. After your guided visit, transfer to the train station and board your scenic train to Aguas Calientes. As you travel alongside the Urubamba River, admire the spectacular transition from the Sacred Valley to the lush cloud forest, offering unforgettable views throughout the approximately two-hour journey.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, you will be met and escorted to your hotel for check-in. Enjoy a relaxing evening in this charming mountain town as you prepare for the highlight of your journey your unforgettable visit to Machu Picchu the following morning.
Day 6: Explore Machu Picchu
After breakfast at your hotel in Aguas Calientes, your official guide from Peruvian Culture Tours will accompany you to the bus station for the scenic 35-minute ride to the majestic Machu Picchu Citadel, surrounded by spectacular cloud forest and Andean mountain scenery.
Upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour of one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, exploring its most iconic viewpoints, temples, terraces, and ceremonial sectors. During the approximately two-hour visit, your guide will share fascinating insights into the history, architecture, engineering, and spiritual significance of this extraordinary Inca sanctuary while allowing plenty of opportunities to capture unforgettable photographs.
After your guided tour, return by shuttle bus to Aguas Calientes, where you will have time to enjoy lunch at one of the town’s carefully selected restaurants.
Later, make your way to the train station at least 30–35 minutes before departure to board your scenic train back to Ollantaytambo, enjoying one last journey through the spectacular landscapes of the Sacred Valley.
Day 7: Leisure Day in Ollantaytambo
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel before spending the day at your own pace in the charming Inca town of Ollantaytambo. Wander through its remarkably preserved cobblestone streets, explore the colorful handicraft and textile markets, or simply relax while admiring the breathtaking Andean scenery.
Take time to discover one of the oldest continuously inhabited Inca towns in Peru, where ancient traditions and architecture remain part of everyday life. With fewer visitors and a pleasant mountain climate, Ollantaytambo offers the perfect setting to experience its unique atmosphere, enjoy delicious local cuisine, and savor lunch and dinner at one of the town’s inviting restaurants with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
Day 8: Hummingbird Sanctuary & Maras Salt Mines
After a delicious breakfast at your hotel in Ollantaytambo, your private guide from Peruvian Culture Tours will meet you to begin another memorable day exploring the natural and cultural treasures of the Sacred Valley.
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive to the Hummingbird Sanctuary, where you will observe a variety of colorful hummingbirds and other native bird species in their natural habitat while enjoying the peaceful beauty of the Andean landscape.
Next, visit a traditional Sacred Valley market, where you can browse locally grown produce, handcrafted textiles, and artisan products while experiencing the authentic daily life of the region. At midday, enjoy lunch at a carefully selected restaurant featuring the finest flavors of Peruvian cuisine.
In the afternoon, discover the spectacular Maras Salt Mines, an extraordinary network of thousands of ancient salt ponds that have been harvested since pre-Inca times. Visiting later in the day offers a quieter experience, allowing you to fully appreciate one of Peru’s most iconic landscapes.
After your visit, continue to the traditional Quechua community of Omasbamba, Chinchero, where you will arrive between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. Upon arrival, settle into your community accommodation and enjoy a relaxing evening surrounded by the stunning Andean mountains, preparing for an authentic cultural experience with your local host family the following day.
Day 9: Authentic Quechua Community Experience
Wake up to a traditional Andean breakfast surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery before immersing yourself in the daily life of the Quechua community of Omasbamba. Spend the day learning about the community’s ancestral traditions, including their renowned weaving techniques and agricultural practices that have been preserved for generations.
Take part in the preparation of a traditional Pachamanca lunch, help make homemade tamales, and discover the remarkable diversity of native potatoes cultivated in the region. Throughout the day, enjoy meaningful interactions with local families, making this an ideal opportunity to practice your Spanish while experiencing authentic Andean hospitality and culture.
Day 10: Cusco City Tour & Cathedral

Day 11: Departure

From Cusco, you will board your flight to Lima, where you will have enough time to connect with your international flight home.
