Your journey begins with a warm welcome from Peruvian Culture Tours as you depart from your hotel in Cusco and set off on an unforgettable adventure into the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Chinchero – Living Culture & Traditions
Upon arrival in Chinchero, transition smoothly from the scenic drive to exploring a vibrant local community, learning ancient weaving techniques from skilled artisans, visiting an alpaca farm, and discovering the nearby Inca archaeological site that reflects deep ancestral heritage.
Moray – Inca Agricultural Laboratory
Next, you continue to Moray, an impressive system of circular terraces used by the Incas to experiment with crops and microclimates, showcasing their advanced agricultural knowledge.
Maras Salt Mines – Ancient Salt Heritage
The journey then leads to Salineras de Maras, where thousands of salt pools shine across the mountainside, and local families continue centuries-old salt-harvesting traditions.

Day 2: Short Inca Trail Hike to Machu Picchu – Peruvian Culture Tours
Early Departure – Sacred Valley to Km 104
Day 2 begins with an early 5:30 a.m. pick-up in Ollantaytambo, followed by a scenic train journey through the Sacred Valley toward Km 104, the starting point of your unforgettable Short Inca Trail adventure to Machu Picchu.
Trekking the Inca Trail – Nature & History
From Km 104, you begin your hike along an ancient Inca path, surrounded by lush cloud forest, vibrant orchids, and rich wildlife, including hummingbirds and the striking Andean cock-of-the-rock, while enjoying breathtaking views of the Urubamba River and the surrounding Andean peaks.
Wiñay Wayna – Sacred Inca Site
Along the way, you explore the impressive archaeological complex of Wiñay Wayna, featuring terraces, ceremonial areas, and waterfalls that highlight the engineering genius of the Incas. Then, we have a delicious box lunch near that place, and after lunch, we continue hiking.
Inti Punku – The Sun Gate Viewpoint
Continuing the trek, you arrive at Inti Punku, where you will witness your first breathtaking panoramic view of Machu Picchu, one of the most unforgettable highlights of the journey.
Machu Picchu – Afternoon Guided Visit (Circuit 1)
In the afternoon, you enter Machu Picchu with fewer crowds, allowing a peaceful experience as your expert guide leads you through Circuit 1, offering iconic viewpoints and unforgettable photo opportunities.
Aguas Calientes – Overnight Stay
Finally, you descend by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you enjoy a delicious dinner and a comfortable 3-star hotel stay, concluding a truly magical day on the Short Inca Trail.
Day 3: Machu Picchu Tour – back to Cusco
After breakfast at your hotel, your unforgettable journey to Machu Picchu begins. From Aguas Calientes, you may either take a comfortable 35-minute bus ride to the entrance or choose a rewarding 1.5-hour uphill hike, surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery.
Upon arrival, your guide will manage all entrance formalities and lead you on a comprehensive 3-hour tour of Circuit 2, the most complete route through the citadel. As you explore, you’ll marvel at the masterful stonework, ingenious hydraulic engineering, and the most iconic temples and terraces of the Inca civilization.
Expedition Train.
After the guided visit, we return by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the town’s excellent restaurants. Your guide will then accompany you to the train station, ensuring you arrive in plenty of time for your scenic Expedition Train ride through the Sacred Valley. Upon arrival, private transport will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco, bringing your Machu Picchu adventure to a perfect close.

About booking and payment form
Booking a TRIP (trek or by train) requires a deposit of 50% of the total price of the trip.Please note that this deposit is mandatory to buy the train and entrance tickets to Machu Picchu, all subject to availability. After your deposit and reservation then confirmed, your outstanding balance is due when you arrive in Cusco, either 48 hours before departure or during your briefing. If you do not pay outstanding balances before departure, you cannot participate in your scheduled trip.The final acceptance of any participant is subject to the receipt and review of all the forms, documents, and payments required.
About trip itineraries
All Peruvian Culture Tours hikes are subject to itinerary changes based on a variety of circumstances, Peruvian Culture Tours reserves the right to cancel or change any trip due to river, road, weather conditions, or political climate. We also reserve the right to cancel any trip due to client unsuitability because of age, ill health, poor fitness, intoxication, etc.
Any missed tours due to the above-listed incidences (eg weather conditions or political climate) cannot be refunded or recuperated. The price and duration of a hiking trip will never change once you’re registered. Payments are not refundable for itinerary changes or public land closures.If a trip is canceled due to circumstances beyond our control a trip credit equal to the full amount paid will be issued.
Change policy
If you wish to change the date of departure/ and or route of your trek after making the reservation/deposit, there will be a $50 per-person fee to make the change. If the change is made in the 48 hours prior to the trek, the change will cost $100 per person.
Cancelations by clients:
Cancelation of the tour once you have received a written confirmation incurs a loss of booking deposit -A non-refundable booking deposit.
- Cancelation of the tour within 45 to 22 days before the date of tour departure incurs a loss of 70% of the total tour cost.
- Cancelation of the tour within 21 to 9 days before departure incurs a loss of 80% of the total tour cost.
- Cancelation of the tour within 8 days to 48 hours before departure incurs a loss of 100% of the total tour cost.
- Peruvian Culture Tours is not responsible for additional costs due to unfavorable weather conditions, natural catastrophes, strikes, accidents, illness, injury, loss of personal items, etc. It is the client’s responsibility to carry insurance to cover these types of events. We reserve the right to modify or cancel the program due to any unforeseen conditions.
Medical releases
We require medical releases for prospective guests over 70 years of age and for various circumstances such as a history of cardiovascular disease, chronic illness, and other conditions and factors.
Let know to the guides if you consume any medical tab, pill, or chronic illness to prevent any accident or emergency case, if you have the first aid kit brought for the trail will be very useful for member hikers.
