Day 1 : Arrival in Cusco – Transfer to Ollantaytambo, the Living Inca Town

Upon arrival at Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport, a representative from Peruvian Culture Tours will greet you and escort you comfortably to Ollantaytambo, one of Peru’s last living Inca towns.

Before departing for the Sacred Valley, you will pause briefly in Cusco’s city center for last-minute shopping or personal needs. Then, enjoy a stunning 2-hour journey across Andean landscapes, picturesque villages, and dramatic mountain vistas, with opportunities for memorable photos.

Once in Ollantaytambo, take free time to savor lunch, wander cobblestone lanes, and relax amid striking mountains and genuine Inca stonework.

Beginning your journey in Ollantaytambo is ideal for altitude acclimatization, as its lower elevation allows your body to adjust more gradually and comfortably before traveling to higher areas of the Andes.

Day 2: Explore Machu Picchu – Return to Ollantaytambo

After breakfast in Ollantaytambo, transfer to the train station and enjoy a scenic journey through the stunning Andes to Aguas Calientes.

Upon arrival, meet your professional guide and take the 35-minute shuttle bus to Machu Picchu. Day 4: Hike to Rainbow Mountain with Red  Valley

Today, you will experience one of the most unforgettable adventures in the Peruvian Andes: Rainbow Mountain and the spectacular Red Valley.

Your adventure begins at 4:00 a.m. with pickup from your hotel in Cusco, located at approximately 3,399 meters (11,152 ft) above sea level. Together with your professional guide, you will travel for about 3 hours through beautiful Andean landscapes to the trailhead. A boxed breakfast will be provided before departure.

The hike to Rainbow Mountain takes approximately 2 hours uphill, reaching an elevation of 5,050 meters (16,568 ft). Along the trail, your guide will offer continuous support and carry oxygen to ensure your comfort and safety at high altitude. At the summit, you will take in sweeping panoramic views while learning about the mountain’s unique mineral formations and cultural importance in Andean tradition.

Your adventure to Humantay Lake begins at 4:00 a.m. with hotel pickup and a boxed breakfast provided by your hotel. You will travel in comfortable transportation with an official professional guide.

The journey starts with a 2-hour drive from Cusco to Mollepata, followed by an additional 1-hour drive to the trek starting point.

The hike takes approximately 3 hours, gradually ascending through stunning Andean scenery until reaching 4,200 meters (13,780 ft). At the summit, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the turquoise Humantay Lake and the surrounding Salkantay Mountain range. Your guide will share fascinating cultural insights and help you reach the best viewpoints for memorable photos.

After enjoying the lake, you will descend back to the starting point (about 2 hours) and continue by van for 1 hour to Mollepata for a delicious lunch. Finally, you will return to Cusco in approximately 2–3 hours aboard comfortable private transportation.

Peru discovery, the visits for the days 2,3,4 & 5 are straightforward you will only travel by bus and make short trips.

The trip has moderate difficulty on days 6 and 7. After visiting the Sacred Valley you will take your train to Aguas Calientes, the next day get up and down by bus, and then return by train and bus to Cusco.
