Day 1: Cusco Tinki Upis hot Spring

We will pick you up from your hotel early at 05:00 am on our private transport. We take a 3-hour drive through the beautiful countryside to the small Andean community of Tinqui 3900 m / 12,795ft, the starting point of our 4-day / 3-night Ausangate plus rainbow mountain trek. In Tinki, we will meet our team: professional trekking chef, and the local riders from the Tinki community who will accompany us on our Ausangate plus Rainbow Mountain Trek, 4 days/3 and nights through the impressive Ausangate Mountain and Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain.

Our first trek of three hours to the lunch place will be gradually uphill, where we will also appreciate fields of Andean agriculture, groups of llamas, baby alpacas, and other local animals, we will have impressive views of the sacred mountains of Ausangate and the Ausangate peak 6370 m / 20,898 feet. After lunch, we will continue for another 2 hours to reach our campsite Upis 4400 m/14,435ft, where we can go to visit and enjoy the medicinal hot springs before tea time and dinner.

Day 2: Upis Campsite –Arapa Pass –Hatun Puka Coccha

In the morning, we will wake you up with coca tea after the organic breakfast we will provide you with water to fill the water bottles and healthy snacks. We will continue our trek with an ascent to the Arapa pass, at 4900 m / 16,076 ft. The ascent will take approximately 3 hours. On the way we will have panoramic views of majestic valleys, Ausangate lakes of different colors, and the majestic Ausangate Glacier, spectacular views of the snow-capped peaks around the sacred Ausangate glacier and its medicinal plants and wild animals such as the Vicuña, the Andean Fox, Common Snake, Peruvian Condor.

After taking great photos we will descend for another 3 hours until we reach the lunch point, then it will take us 2 hours to reach the second camp at Puka Cocha 4600 m / 15,091ft, which is one of the most beautiful camps with a view to the Ausangate glacier and a few kilometers. The camp is installed on Lake Puka Cocha and there we will have happy hour and dinner.

Day 3: Hatun Puka Coccha-Anantapata

Wake up early with a cup of coca tea, then we will have breakfast to begin our 4-day Ausangate trek approximately 3 hours uphill until we reach the Hatun Puka Cocha pass, 4600 m / 15,091 ft. The path is steep until reaching the summit, we will enjoy the spectacular views all the way and the incredible views of the Ausangate glacier and Andean animals such as baby alpacas and llamas.

After enjoying the beautiful Andean landscape around you and taking some pictures, continue through the green valley with baby alpacas and groups of llamas grazing in the Ausangate Andes mountain range. At the end of the Ausangate walk, we will have more natural manifestations of the mountains and rainbow formations. After our delicious lunch, the afternoon is free to explore and relax in the tents and enjoy happy hour and dinner.

Day 4: Anantapata – Ausangate Trek plus Rainbow Mountain tour – Cusco

Wake up with coca tea in the Ausangate trek 4 days after early breakfast, we will start with our Ausangate trek plus Rainbow Mountain with a gradual ascent of around 1 hour to Warmisaya pass 4985 m / 16,355 ft. where we will have our first view of the impressive Rainbow Mountain in the distance. Then we will descend through the valley of the impressive Ausangate mountain until we reach the final climb to the Rainbow Mountain, 5050 m / 16,568 ft, overlooking the snow-capped peaks of the Andes Mountain range at a distance close to the famous Vinincunca Rainbow Mountain, Rainbow Mountain in Peru with a natural attraction.

Rainbown Mountain

Enjoy the views and take pictures of Rainbow Mountain, groups of llamas, Alpaca, and medicinal plants, finishing the visit to Rainbow Mountain, then we descend the valley of Rainbow Mountain, downhill until we reach the bus station, then we will drive the bus to the organic lunch point. After lunch, we will drive 3 hours back to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel around 5:00 p.m.

There is no additional fee for this. We will give you your duffel bag at your briefing the night before and this should be filled with the things you need for the night and the next day. You will not have access to your duffel until your campsite.
  • Trekking Cook: over 3 people cook assistants.
  • Meals: 3 Breakfasts, 4 Lunches, 3 dinners, (Vegetarian, vegan or special menus are available at no extra cost).
  • Wake up coca tea.
  • Tea time 1 hour before dinner the cooks will let on the dining table pop-corn, biscuits, coffee, chocolate, different type of teas, hot water, etc. this is because after a day of hiking many are hungry and it is a bit annoying to wait till dinner that why we provide tea time.

  • Wear a hat with a broad visor to keep the sun off your face.

About booking and payment form

Booking a TRIP (trek or by train) requires a deposit of 50% of the total price of the trip. Please note that this deposit is mandatory to buy the train and entrance tickets to Machu Picchu, all subject to availability. After your deposit and reservation are confirmed, your outstanding balance is due when you arrive in Cusco 48 hours before departure or during your briefing. If you do not pay exceptional balances before departure, you cannot participate in your scheduled trip. The final acceptance of any participant is subject to the receipt and review of all the forms, documents, and payments required.

About trip itineraries

All Peruvian Culture Tours hikes are subject to itinerary changes based on a variety of circumstances, Peruvian Culture Tours reserves the right to cancel or change any trip due to river, road, weather conditions, or political climate. We also reserve the right to cancel any trip due to client unsuitability because of age, ill health, poor fitness, intoxication, etc.

Any missed tours due to the above-listed incidences (eg weather conditions or political climate) cannot be refunded or recuperated.

The price and duration of a hiking trip will never change once registered. Payments are not refundable for itinerary changes or public land closures. If a trip is canceled due to circumstances beyond our control a trip credit equal to the full amount paid will be issued.

Change policy

If you wish to change the date of departure/ and or route of your trek after making the reservation/deposit, there will be a $50 per person fee to make the change, except if the change is made in the 48 hours prior to the trek, when the change will cost $100 per person.

Cancelations by cliente:

Cancelation of the tour once you have received a written confirmation incurs a loss of booking deposit -A non-refundable booking deposit.

  • Cancelation of the tour within 45 to 22 days before the date of tour departure incurs a loss of 70% of the total tour cost.
  • Cancelation of the tour within 21 to 9 days before departure incurs a loss of 80% of the total tour cost.
  • Cancelation of the tour within 8 days to 48 hours before departure incurs a loss of 100% of the total tour cost.
  • Peruvian Culture Tours does not take responsibility for additional costs due to unfavorable weather conditions, natural catastrophes, strikes, accidents, illness, injury, loss of personal items, etc. It is the client’s responsibility to carry insurance to cover these types of events. We reserve the right to modify or cancel the program due to any of the unforeseen conditions listed above.
Medical releases

We require medical releases for prospective guests over 70 years of age and for various circumstances such as a history of cardiovascular disease, chronic illness, and other conditions and factors.

Let know to the guides if you consume any medical tab, pill, or chronic illness to prevent any accident or emergency case, if you have the first aid kit brought for the trail will be very useful for member hikers.

Travel insurance provides you with trip cancellation or interruption, travel delay, medical expenses, emergency assistance, and baggage delay coverage to protect your financial investment.
