Day 1: Birding tour In Cusco: Huacarpay Lake
Books Breakfast: To begin with, we will have a books breakfast on the car as we head towards Huacarpay Lake. This will allow us to enjoy world-class bird watching on a private tour with a local birding expert.We will pick you up at 5:00 am from your hotel in Cusco, and then, after a scenic drive south of the city, we will start our adventure.
ACTIVITIES
The Huacarpay Bird-Watching Lagoon, 30 km southeast of Cusco at 3,050 meters, is renowned for its biodiversity. Once part of the ancient Morkill Lake, it now preserves bird species and scenic beauty.
BIRDING
Here, you can spot beautiful wetland birds like the Marbled Ginger Anas flavorists, Marbled Colorado Cinnamon Teal, and Marbled Puna Teal. Additionally, look for the Sapling Grebe, White-Tufted Grebe, and Andean Coot. Finally, in the afternoon, we will return to Cusco, concluding our bird-watching tour.
