Day 1: Cusco City – Lares Hot Springs – Kiswarani 6 Waterfalls and Campsite

Early in the morning, at 4:00 AM, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and begin a scenic three-hour drive to Lares. Upon arrival, known for its relaxing hot springs, we’ll kick off our adventure with a delicious breakfast and breathtaking views of the valley.

After breakfast, you can unwind in the therapeutic thermal baths, rich in minerals that help relieve stress and muscle tension. Then, we’ll drive 20 minutes to the trailhead, meet our porters and horses, and begin the trek through Quechua villages, spotting llamas and alpacas.

By midday, we’ll stop for lunch in the Kiswarani community. Afterward, we’ll visit six nearby waterfalls before continuing to our lakeside campsite. As the sun sets, we’ll enjoy a warm dinner surrounded by stunning mountain views, ending the day with peace and comfort.

Day 2: Kiswarani – Condor Mountain Pass – Lares trail Cancha Cancha Village.

Breakfast:We begin the day with a delicious breakfast at 6:30 AM in the mountains.Afterward, following that, we will enjoy an organic fruit snack, which will energize us for the day ahead.

Activities: First, we will start trekking through the Lares mountains towards our second campsite, enjoying stunning views of the Lares range and turquoise lagoons.Along the way, we’ll encounter wild animals.Then, we’ll hike uphill for four hours to reach Cóndor Pass, where we’ll take in breathtaking views of the Pituitary Glacier. Afterward, we’ll relax with Coca leaf tea and hot chocolate before continuing downhill to the community of Cancha Cancha.

Lunch:Following our arrival, we will have a delicious lunch in the Cancha Cancha community.This town is situated at 3,750 meters (12,303 feet).Here, you will have the opportunity to learn about the local way of life and observe how the residents raise their (guinea pigs).

Overnight:As the evening sets in, we will overnight in the Cancha Cancha community.After a fulfilling day of trekking, we will, furthermore, enjoy a delicious dinner. To wind down, you will then savor a hot Coca drink, which will help you relax and recharge.

Day 3: Cancha Cancha – Huaran – Salt Mines – Overnight in Ollantaytambo

We begin the day early, at 6:00 AM, with a warm breakfast. Afterward, we start our scenic descent toward the Sacred Valley, enjoying the shift in climate as we move from highlands to warmer valleys.

As we hike down to the Huaran community, you’ll see changing landscapes and pass by fields of corn, quinoa, peaches, apples, and avocados. Eventually, we arrive in Huaran (2,700 m), where the Lares trek concludes.

Here, we enjoy a delicious lunch and take time to thank our porters and chef for their support. After lunch, we continue by private transport to the famous Maras Salt Mines, in use since pre-Inca times. With over 3,000 salt pools on the hillside, the view is truly unforgettable.

Following our visit, we drive 45 minutes to Ollantaytambo, a charming town surrounded by majestic mountains. After checking in, you’ll have time to relax and soak in the tranquil scenery.

Finally, we gather for a delicious dinner at a local restaurant known for its great food and welcoming atmosphere.

Day 4: Short Inca Trail – KM 104 to Machu Picchu & Overnight in Aguas Calientes

We start early with breakfast at 5:00 AM, then head to the Ollantaytambo train station for a scenic ride to KM 104. Along the way, enjoy views of snow-capped peaks and the Sacred Valley River.

Upon arriving at KM 104, we begin our trek, first visiting Chachabamba (2,250 m).As we hike upward, we pass lush landscapes and ancient ruins until reaching Wiñayhuayna, where we stop for a box lunch.

After lunch, we continue to Inti Punku (Sun Gate), where we’ll catch our first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu. Reaching the citadel in the late afternoon allows us to explore peacefully and take stunning sunset photos without crowds.

Finally, we take the bus down to Aguas Calientes, check into the hotel, and enjoy a delicious dinner at one of the best local restaurants.

Day 5: Machu Picchu Tour & Return to Cusco

We begin the day early with breakfast at 6:00 AM in the hotel. Shortly after, we board the bus to Machu Picchu, enjoying breathtaking views along the way.

Upon arrival, with your entrance ticket and passport in hand, we’ll enter the Inca citadel. You’ll explore Circuit 2, the most complete route, during a 2-hour guided tour. Along the way, admire the majestic stonework, advanced Inca hydraulic systems, and the spiritual essence of this Wonder of the World.

After the visit, we return to Aguas Calientes for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.

Later, make your way to the train station at least 35 minutes early. We take the train back to Ollantaytambo (2 hours), where our staff will be waiting. Finally, we drive 1.5 hours to Cusco, dropping you off at your hotel. A perfect end to an unforgettable journey.

WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING.

  • We recommend that you arrive in the city of Cusco two days before starting your Lares trek for better acclimatization and to avoid altitude sickness.)

  • Lighter style trekking boots with good ankle support or tough sports shoes,

  • Thermal underwear can be worn in a sleeping bag or under cold conditions.
  • Gloves or mittens, scarf, wool socks, woolen hat for cold nights
  • T-shirts and trekking pants that zip off to short pants for comfort.
  • Flashlight, head torch, and extra batteries.

Cancelation of the tour once you have received a written confirmation incurs a loss of booking deposit -A non-refundable booking deposit.

  • Cancelation of the tour within 45 to 22 days before the date of tour departure incurs a loss of 70% of the total tour cost.
  • Cancelation of the tour within 21 to 9 days before departure incurs a loss of 80% of the total tour cost.
  • Cancelation of the tour within 8 days to 48 hours before departure incurs a loss of 100% of the total tour cost.
