Day 1: Cusco, Ollantaytambo – Km 104 Chachabamba – Sun Gate – Machu Picchu City – Aguas Calientes Town.
We begin our journey with a 5:30 am pickup from your hotel in Cusco. From there, we’ll drive to the train station in Ollantaytambo, where we’ll board the 7:45 am train to the 104 km mark, marking the start of our short Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu. As we trek, you’ll be treated to stunning views of farmlands, snow-capped mountains, and the Sacred Valley, a source of the Green Amazon. After our two-day tour exploring the incredible Machu Picchu, we’ll transition to the traditional four-day Inca Trail. We’ll enjoy lunch at Wiñay Wayna, with a box lunch provided.
Then, we’ll continue toward the Machu Picchu Sun Gate, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. After soaking in these views, we’ll descend toward the iconic Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Finally, we’ll spend the night in Aguas Calientes, reflecting on the day’s incredible experiences.
Day 2: Machu Picchu Tour – Ollantaytambo – Return to Cusco
We begin the day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel, preparing for the adventure ahead. Shortly after, we take a scenic 35-minute bus ride to the entrance of Machu Picchu, where breathtaking views build excitement. Upon arrival, your official tour guide will have your tickets and passport ready. You’ll then enjoy a fascinating 2.5-hour guided tour, exploring the site’s sacred temples, masterful stonework, and the incredible engineering of the Inca civilization.
After the tour, we return to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll have time to relax and reflect. Then, enjoy a tasty lunch at a local restaurant before heading to the train station. We’ll arrive at least 30 minutes early to ensure a smooth boarding process.
Next, take a scenic 2-hour train ride to Ollantaytambo, where our team will be waiting. From there, we drive another 2 hours back to Cusco, bringing this unforgettable experience to a perfect close.
