Peru Discovery: Lima, Nazca Lines & Machu Picchu 8 Days /7Nights

Day 1: Arrival in Lima and City Tour

Upon your arrival at the airport, our Peruvian Cultures Tours team staff will be waiting for you with a sign with your name on it to give you a warm welcome to our country, and to later transfer you to your hotel in Miraflores – Lima.

In the afternoon. We will begin our tour in Lima in its three historical periods: Pre-Hispanic, Colonial, and Modern. We begin our tour with a panoramic view of the “Huaca Pucllana”, a magnificent ceremonial and archaeological center. then visit the Historic Center of Lima we will also visit the Convent of San Francisco de Lima, known for housing the first public cemetery in the city “The Catacombs, and pass through the most traditional residential areas of Lima, San Isidro, Miraflores, and Larcomar. Return to our Hotel.

Day 2: Lima- Paracas Ballestas Islands & Huacachina Dunes – Overnight Ica

Enjoy an early box breakfast provided by your hotel before departing aboard a comfortable tourist coach to Paracas, home to one of Peru’s most remarkable coastal ecosystems.

Upon arrival, transfer to the pier to board a speedboat for your excursion to the Ballestas Islands, often known as the “Little Galápagos of Peru.” As you cruise across Paracas Bay, admire the enigmatic Candelabro, a massive geoglyph carved into the hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Measuring approximately 128 meters in length and 74 meters in width, this mysterious figure resembles the famous Nazca Lines and can only be appreciated from the sea.

Continue to the Ballestas Islands, a protected sanctuary renowned for its abundant marine wildlife. Observe colonies of playful sea lions, Humboldt penguins, and thousands of guano birds, including cormorants, pelicans, Peruvian boobies, and gulls. The islands’ dramatic cliffs, natural arches, and unique rock formations create one of the most breathtaking coastal landscapes in Peru.

Following the excursion, savor a delicious lunch at a local seaside restaurant in Paracas, where you will enjoy freshly prepared seafood and regional specialties while overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

After lunch, continue by road to Huacachina, a scenic journey of approximately one hour through Peru’s coastal desert.

In the afternoon, discover the magical Huacachina Oasis, a picturesque natural lagoon surrounded by towering golden sand dunes. Embark on an exhilarating dune buggy adventure as experienced drivers navigate the rolling desert landscape. Along the way, enjoy the unforgettable experience of sandboarding, gliding down the majestic dunes while taking in spectacular panoramic views of the Ica Desert.

After this exciting desert adventure, transfer to your hotel in Ica for check-in and a relaxing evening.

Day 3: Overflight of the Nazca Lines – Return to Lima

Day 4: Lima Airport -arrival in Cusco – City Tour in Cusco

After your breakfast at your hotel, our staff will pick you up from the hotel to the airport for a morning flight to Cusco, often called the Archaeological Capital of America. Upon arrival, one of our representatives from Peruvian Culture Tours will be waiting to give you a warm welcome to Cusco and then will transfer you to your hotel in the historic center of Cusco.

In the afternoon, our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel to take you to some of the best archaeological sites, the Temple of the Sun Koricancha, and archaeological sites around Cusco such as Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pukapukara, and Tambomachay. After the excursion, we will return to our hotel in the city and enjoy dinner and rest.

Day 5: Explore Sacred Valley Tour

We will start with the pick up from the hotel around 7:00 am with our official tour guide and transportation. Then we will visit the archaeological center of Chinchero to learn about the history and culture.

Continuing with the tour, we will visit the archaeological center of Moray, an ancient Inca laboratory. Then we will descend to the salt mines of Maras, which is located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where salt is cultivated, and at noon we will enjoy a buffet lunch of Peruvian cuisine. To finish our tour, we will visit the archaeological center of Ollantaytambo, the last bastion of the Incan, and then we will go to the train station. Then we go by train to Machupicchu town to overnight.

Day 6: Machu Picchu tour and return to Cusco

We will start with the pick-up from your hotel, check-in at the bus station, and travel 35 minutes by bus to the citadel of Machu Picchu. After entering the sanctuary of Machu Picchu, we will start the 2-hour guided tour in the citadel of Machu Picchu, in which we will observe the Inca architecture. Our official guide will explain in detail about the Inca history and culture. Come back from Machu Picchu and enjoy lunch at one of Machu Picchu’s fine restaurants. Be sure to arrive at the train station 30 minutes early. To board the return train, our staff will meet you at Ollantaytambo station and take you to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 7: Explore Rainbow Mountain Tour

Today, immerse yourself in one of Peru’s most iconic high-altitude adventures as you explore the breathtaking Rainbow Mountain and the magnificent Red Valley, surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Andes.

Your adventure begins at 6:00 a.m. with pickup from your hotel in Cusco, located at approximately 3,399 meters (11,152 ft) above sea level. Together with your professional guide, you will travel for about 3 hours through beautiful Andean landscapes to the trailhead. A boxed breakfast will be provided before departure.

The hike to Rainbow Mountain takes approximately 2 hours uphill, reaching an elevation of 5,050 meters (16,568 ft). Along the trail, your guide will offer continuous support and carry oxygen to ensure your comfort and safety at high altitude. At the summit, you will take in sweeping panoramic views while learning about the mountain’s unique mineral formations and cultural importance in Andean tradition ,our official tour guide will explain us then we come back to the transport walking down for 1 hour then we come back to the lunch with our transport in 2 hours and then time to enjoy the lunch after delicious lunch we come back to cusco driving for 3 hours aproximately .

Day 8: Transfer from your Hotel in Cusco to Cusco Airport

Breakfast at your hotel and transfer to Cusco airport and departure to Lima for connections with international flights.
