Day 1: Cusco -Ichu Cancha-Huchuy Qosqo Community.
Pickup from the hotel at 6:30 a.m. We will drive to the starting point of the trek, Ichu Cancha, for 1 1-hour and 30-minute drive in a private van. As we start our trek to Huchuy Qosqo, an Incan city, we will be guided by a knowledgeable tour guide who will educate us on the local flora and fauna. Our challenge is to reach the Rumi Cruz pass at 4100 masl / 13186 feet, then we will head to the community of Pukamarka for lunch. Our chef will be waiting with a local drink as a welcome drink. Then we will have our tasty lunch with amazing panoramic views.
After lunch, we continue walking to Huchuy Qosqo Inca city, enjoying the amazing views. Arriving at Huchuy Qosqo, we will explore the religious site and the urban sector, which is the palace of King Wiracocha, father of Pachacutec. After that, we will spend the night in the Huchuy Qosqo community in a local family in the mountains. Then we have tea time and dinner.
Day 2: Huchuy Qosqo Community – Overnight Ollantaytambo.
Wake up early at 6.30 am with a cup of muña tea. Then we have a good breakfast. After a delicious breakfast, we continue walking to the Inca viewpoint to take in the view of the Sacred Valley. We then have a full explanation of Huchuy Qosqo, the Inca city. After that, we walk down to the Villa Carmen community. We have lunch in the Villa Carmen community parwa restaurant. After lunch, we will take our transport to drive to the Incan city of Ollantaytambo.
Overnight in Ollantaytambo: Firstly, we check into the hotel in Ollantaytambo, an Inca city and the oldest Inca town, featuring Inca canals that run through its ancient streets. Then, you will have time to explore the Inca village of Ollantaytambo in your free time, and lastly, we will have dinner.
Day 3: Train to KM 104 – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes town.
We have breakfast early in the morning at your hotel, then we go to the train station in Ollantaytambo, where we take a train journey to km 104. where we will appreciate the beautiful views of the snow-capped mountains and the rivers. Upon arrival at km 104, we will begin our short Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu, exploring Chachabamba and Wiñayhuayna. Then we have a box lunch near wiñayhuayna Inca city. After lunch, we hike to the Inti Punku Sun Gate, offering stunning views of Machu Picchu.
We will enjoy a visit to Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, at sunset and take classic photos of the city. By this time of day, the travelers will be gone, leaving the entire area of Machu Picchu for you. We take the bus from the city of Machu Picchu to the town of Aguas Calientes. Then we go to the hotel, and have a delicious dinner in Machu Picchu town.
Day 4: Machu Picchu Tour – back to Cusco city
Explore Machu Picchu on day 4, one of the 7 Wonders of the World, the Machu Picchu Sanctuary. We will start with breakfast at our hotel, then we will go to the bus station to take a bus to Machu Picchu for 35 35-minute drive. After spending 3 hours exploring Machu Picchu, we will admire the architecture and Inca hydraulic engineering, as well as the important sites within the archaeological center of Machu Picchu. Return from Machu Picchu and enjoy your lunch in Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu town
Expedition Train.
Our tour guide will escort you to the train station in Aguas Calientes to board your train back to Ollantaytambo. Please arrive at the train station at least 30 minutes before you leave. Once you arrive in Ollantaytambo, take our bus for 1 hour and 30 minutes back to Cusco to your hotel.
