Day 1: Arrival in Cusco and City tour
Upon arrival at the airport, our Peruvian culture tours team will be waiting to give you a warm welcome to Cusco and then will transfer you to your hotel in the historic center of Cusco.
In the afternoon, our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to some of the best archaeological sites. The Temple of the Sun Koricancha, and archaeological sites around Cusco such as Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pukapukara, and Tambomachay. After the excursion, we will return to our hotel in the city and enjoy dinner and rest.
Day 2: Sacred Valley of the Incas -Train to Machupicchu town
We will start with the pick up from the hotel around 7:00 am with our official tour guide and transportation. Then we will visit the archaeological center of Chinchero to learn about the history and culture.
Continuing with The best tours in Cusco, we will visit the archaeological center of Moray, an ancient Inca laboratory. Then we will descend to the salt mines of Maras, which is located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where salt is cultivated, and at noon we will enjoy a buffet lunch of Peruvian cuisine. To finish our tour, we will visit the archaeological center of Ollantaytambo, last bastion of the Incan, and then we will go to the train station. Then we go with the train to Machupicchu town to overnight.
Day 3: Machu Picchu tour — back to Cusco
We will start with breakfast at the hotel and then take the bus to Machupicchu. Upon arriving at the entrance of Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, we will begin the 3-hour guided walking tour, discovering the many sacred sites in the lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu. After the Machu Picchu Discovery tour, we recommend that you return to the town of Aguas Calientes no later than 2 hours before the train, leaving you time to enjoy lunch at one of the many restaurants in Aguas Calientes town. Be sure to arrive at the Machu Picchu train station 30 minutes before your departure back to Cusco.
Day 4: Rainbow Mountain full-day tour — Cusco
Very early, we will take our private transportation to the mountain, with breakfast provided to us once we arrive at the Cusipata district. We will then begin our full-day tour of the colorful mountain. On the walk-up to Rainbow Mountain, we will see alpacas and llamas, which are part of the daily life of the high Andean communities. Our experienced guide will give us the details of each place we will pass through, and here we will be able to learn about the impressive Rainbow Mountain of Cusco, which is formed of natural mineral formations. We will then enjoy our lunch before returning to Cusco City.
Day 5:Cusco airport-Puerto Maldonado- Lodge — Caiman Cocha Tour.
We will welcome you at the airport upon your arrival in Puerto Maldonado, Peru’s Capital City of Biodiversity. Then, we’ll start our program with a visit around the city, on a bus.
Afterward, we will go to Puerto Capitanía, to board a motorized riverboat, and we’ll navigate on the Madre de Dios River. During the journey, we will submerge into a fascinating natural environment, if we are lucky we will witness Ronsocos, Caimans, Turtles, Herons, Cormorants and other animal species in their natural environment.
Arriving at Ecoamazonia Lodge, we will enjoy an exquisite welcome drink, we’ll get settled in our bungalows and will have lunch together.
Once satisfied, you will be conducted by our specialized tour guide through an interpretive trail conveniently signposted to the Caiman Cocha, a small lake with an abundant presence of specimens of Black Caiman (Melanosuchus Niger) and Caiman (Caiman Crocodilus).
At the end of the evening, you will witness the spectacular sunset in the Amazon, an experience full of intensities overwhelming color ranges.
Upon returning to the Lodge, a delicious dinner will await you, and enjoy free time to share unforgettable moments at the bar, equipped with an excellent game room and all the drinks you can imagine.
Day6: Lost Cocha and Monkey Island
The morning begins with the sound of beautiful birdsongs from the Amazon Paradise. A hearty breakfast will provide the energy for a morning full of new experiences.
After breakfast, we will start an adventure in the virgin rainforest. Accompanied by a local guide, we ll go on a hike in the deep jungle, to get to the Lost Cocha which constitutes a refuge and feeding ecosystem for a huge variety of animals. There, we´ll have the chance to observe Otters, Caimans, Turtles, Sachavacas (Tapirs) Birds with multicolored feathers, the majestic Jaguar and a variety of fish species. This area is unique and proper to the Ecoamazonia´s Ecological Reserve which maintains it intact, with huge swamps and diverse “aguajales”.
Then, we´ll get to the extraordinary Observation Deck, from which we´ll be able to appreciate the immense and magical rainforest. Afterwards, we´ll have a pleasant canoe ride around the lake and will return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, accompanied by our specialized guide, we will visit Monkey Island, a unique place in the heart of Madre de Dios River, five minutes away from the Lodge. During the hike, we will observe extraordinary landscapes, with an exuberant flora, sheltering a variety of monkey species, in their natural habitat, such as Maquisapas, Capuchins, Small Lion Monkeys, Frailes, Cotos and other animal species like the Coati and Sloths and a great variety of birds.
Finally, we´ll complete our visit of the island, enjoying the sunset, with the most impressive dusk in the jungle. Back to the lodge we conclude the day with a pleasant dinner.
Day7: Departure to puerto maldonado- airport .
After a restful night’s sleep, the morning begins with the sound of beautiful birdsongs from the Amazon Paradise. In our dining room awaits a farewell breakfast before embarking the return to Puerto Maldonado.

About booking and payment form
Booking a TRIP (trek or by train) requires a deposit of 50% of the total price of the trip. Please note that this deposit is mandatory to buy the train and entrance tickets to Machu Picchu, all subject to availability. After your deposit and reservation then confirmed, your outstanding balance is due when you arrive in Cusco, either 48 hours before departure or during your briefing. If you do not pay outstanding balances before departure, you cannot participate in your scheduled trip. The final acceptance of any participant is subject to the receipt and review of all the forms, documents, and payments required.
About trip itineraries
All Peruvian Culture Tours hikes are subject to itinerary changes based on a variety of circumstances, Peruvian Culture Tours reserves the right to cancel or change any trip due to river, road, weather conditions, or political climate. We also reserve the right to cancel any trip due to client unsuitability because of age, ill health, poor fitness, intoxication, etc.
Any missed tours due to the above-listed incidences (eg weather conditions or political climate) cannot be refunded or recuperated.
The price and duration of a hiking trip will never change once you’re registered. Payments are not refundable for itinerary changes or public land closures. If a trip is canceled due to circumstances beyond our control a trip credit equal to the full amount paid will be issued.
Change policy
If you wish to change the date of departure/ and or route of your trek after making the reservation/deposit, there will be a $50 per person fee to make the change, except if the change is made in the 48 hours prior to the trek, when the change will cost $100 per person.
Cancelations by cliente:
Cancelation of the tour once you have received a written confirmation incurs a loss of booking deposit -A non-refundable booking deposit.
- Cancelation of the tour within 45 to 22 days before the date of tour departure incurs a loss of 70% of the total tour cost.
- Cancelation of the tour within 21 to 9 days before departure incurs a loss of 80% of the total tour cost.
- Cancelation of the tour within 8 days to 48 hours before departure incurs a loss of 100% of the total tour cost.
- Peruvian Culture Tours is not responsible for additional costs due to unfavorable weather conditions, natural catastrophes, strikes, accidents, illness, injury, loss of personal items, etc. It is the client’s responsibility to carry insurance to cover these types of events. We reserve the right to modify or cancel the program due to any unforeseen conditions.
Medical releases
We require medical releases for prospective guests over 70 years of age and for various circumstances such as a history of cardiovascular disease, chronic illness, and other conditions and factors.
Let know to the guides if you consume any medical tab, pill, or chronic illness to prevent any accident or emergency case, if you have the first aid kit brought for the trail will be very useful for member hikers.
